#StrongerWithRainbow Challenge - Exercising for Bright Futures!

With summer gone and the cold winter months just round the corner we wanted to focus on the importance of improving the quality of everyone’s busy and sometimes overwhelming daily schedules.

This is true for so many of us and even more so for our hardworking foster parents and foster children who must deal with additional stress, uncertainty and pressure almost every day.

To empathise and support all our foster parents and foster children we are proud to announce our new Health Focused campaign Exercising for Bright Futures!

We will aim to encourage all our Social Media Followers, Staff as well as Foster Parents and Foster Children to be more active, exercise and reap the benefits of a healthier lifestyle.

A fantastic bonus from this challenge is the knowledge that by challenging yourself physically and through dedication to a healthier lifestyle you will also see incredible benefits to your mental health!

How to participate

All participants are welcome to choose their own challenge! If you are up for it why not choose more than one? (flex) The challenge will last for the next 6 weeks beginning Monday 30th September.

There are three main categories: Indoor, Outdoor and Lifestyle Change

The outdoor challenge can be any form of physical exercise such as jogging, walking, cycling a certain distance over time with the aim to manageably increase in time (increase every week).

Indoor challenges can be any form of exercise such as push ups, sit ups, star jumps done over a period with the aim to manageably increase over time (increase every week).

Participants who prefer more of a lifestyle change challenge can choose to add a healthy or remove a rather less healthy element of the daily routines or choices. A water intake challenge for instance, where you regularly update us on the days/weeks you managed to drink more water. Other challenges may be "5 a day" fruit and veg challenge.

Remember it is all about participation, sharing in the daily struggles of all foster parents and children and last but not least be healthier!

The choice of challenge remains firmly with you!

Leading the way

At Rainbow we love to lead by example therefore one of our Regional Managers Kiril will be Rainbow’s first participant.

Kiril's participation will come in the form of three main challenges (ambitious)

1)      Physical Challenge: 100 push ups a day (to be increased by 20 each week to reach 200 by week 6)

2)      Water Intake Challenge: Ensure he drinks at least 3l of water daily

3)      Stop drinking fizzy drinks

Kiril will offer weekly updates so that the participation is visible on social media. This will come in the form of videos and/or photos.

If you would like to join us on this campaign, post a photo with the hashtag #StrongerwithRainbow and in the caption confirm your challenge and let us know how you will keep us updated on your progress! Alternatively, you can email us at foster@rainbowfostering.co.uk

Rainbow will post an update every Friday throughout the duration of the challenge so we can show how incredibly everyone is doing! Post your updates as well using @rainbowfostering and #StrongerWithRainbow!

We know you are as excited as we are so dust off those old trainers and join us on this new challenge!
