About Us
What we do
We are UK’s leading fostering agency providing loving homes for children and young people who can no longer live with their families.
Since 1998, we have been training and supporting foster parents to provide outstanding care, so that every child has a bright future ahead.
Our name
Rainbow represents our commitment
Our rainbow is a sign of the promise we make to our children to respect and honour their inalienable rights. After a rainy day, a rainbow reminds us that no matter how tough things get, there’s always hope and light waiting for us.
Rainbow represents our diversity
Each colour is unique, yet together they create a beautiful unified arc in the sky. Our foster parents, children and staff all come from different backgrounds, racial origins, religions and cultures. We commit to strengthening our beautiful diversity.

“Choosing to foster with Rainbow has been the best decision of our lives. We’re helping a beautiful girl reach her potential with the best support available.”
Meet the Founder
Meet Aijaz, the heart and soul behind Rainbow. Aijaz has a Master’s degree in Social Work and over 30 years of experience in the health and social care sector.
As a former foster parent himself, he founded Rainbow with the goal to enhance support for foster parents. The idea was better support for foster parents = better outcomes for children.
Two decades later, Rainbow is now the UK’s leading independent fostering agency, earning an Ofsted outstanding rating in all areas.
This achievement is a testament to Aijaz’s dedication and the collective passion of our Rainbow family to make a real difference in the lives of children and families across the UK.

Children make exceptional progress
“Children have meaningful relationships with foster carers who really care about them and show commitment to their role. The agency has some real success stories about children who are exceeding expectations in education. Children are in good health and their health needs are met well.”
Diverse and Inclusive
"The agency celebrates diversity and is inclusive of all children. The diversity of foster carers and staff in the agency ensures that children’s religious and cultural needs are understood well.”“The agency celebrates diversity and is inclusive of all children. Children are given a voice
“Children are invited to share their feedback and input into the running of the agency. The agency and foster carers know children very well. This ensures that children are given a voice.”
Strong Placement Stability
“The agency has a strong base of committed and diverse carers who have worked with the agency for many years…From the point of referral, there is careful and considerate matching of children and carers. If issues arise during the placement, the agency is quick to respond and provide additional support.”
Excellent Training and Support
“Foster carers feel very well supported by the agency. All carers say that communication is excellent, and they can always speak to somebody when they need to. Many described the agency as a ‘family’. They feel that the agency goes above and beyond to make sure that they get the support that they need to keep children safe and maintain their placements.”
Effective Leadership
“Leaders and managers are fully committed and dedicated to improving the lives of children. Leaders and managers are child-focused and ensure that children receive high-quality care. Staff morale is positive, and workers feel supported in their roles.”
Our standards of care are in line with the Care Standards Act 2000, Fostering Services Regulations (2001) and associated statutory guidance (both as amended) and the National Minimum Standards (2011). We ensure that:
The welfare of the child is safeguarded and promoted
Consideration is given to the child’s wishes and feelings
The child’s religious, racial origin cultural and linguistic needs are promoted
All foster parents must demonstrate their capabilities of providing safe care for children.
Our Standards of Care
We are not like other corporate agencies.
We are family
Diversity and Equality
Rainbow is a celebration of our diverse community, representing the children and families we serve.
Our people come from different racial origins, religions, ages, backgrounds and cultures. Absolutely everyone is welcome!
Did you know among our staff we speak more than 12 languages?
Supporting local charities
Giving back to the community is a key part of the work we do at Rainbow.
For example, we provided food parcels to MyYard, a charity focused on alleviating food poverty.
We also take part in community events which include painting and gardening, partnering with local organisations.
